secondary education | Secondary education normally takes place in secondary schools taking place after primary education and may be followed by higher education or vocational training. In some countries only primary or basic education is compulsory but secondary education is included in compulsory education in most countries. |
Shingled Magnetic Recording (SMR) | Shingled magnetic recording (SMR) is a magnetic storage data recording technology used in hard disk drives (HDDs) to increase storage density and overall per-drive storage capacity. Conventional hard disk drives record data by writing non-overlapping magnetic tracks parallel to each other (perpendicular magnetic recording, PMR), while shingled recording writes new tracks that overlap part of the previously written magnetic track, leaving the previous track narrower and allowing for higher track density. Thus, the tracks partially overlap similar to roof shingles. This approach was selected because physical limitations prevent recording magnetic heads from having the same width as reading heads, leaving recording heads wider. The overlapping-tracks architecture complicates the writing process since writing to one track also overwrites an adjacent track. |
spirituals | Spirituals (or Negro spirituals) are religious (generally Christian) songs that were created by enslaved African people in the United States. |
Sunni Islam | Sunni Islam is the largest branch of Islam; and makes up more than half of the Muslims in the world. Sunni Islam is the world's second largest religious body (after Christianity) and the largest religious denomination for any religion in the world. Sunni Islam is sometimes referred to as the orthodox version of the religion. |
surf rock | It has two major forms: largely instrumental surf rock with an electric guitar or saxophone playing the main melody and vocal surf pop including both surf ballads and dance music. |
System Requirements |
To be used efficiently, all computer software needs certain hardware components or other software resources to be present on a computer. These prerequisites are known as (computer) system requirements and are often used as a guideline as opposed to an absolute rule. Most software defines two sets of system requirements: minimum and recommended. With increasing demand for higher processing power and resources in newer versions of software, system requirements tend to increase over time. Industry analysts suggest that this trend plays a bigger part in driving upgrades to existing computer systems than technological advancements. A second meaning of the term of system requirements, is a generalisation of this first definition, giving the requirements to be met in the design of a system or sub-system.
