All of the visuals of the film have been realized using Blender and other free/open source software, the film itself and all the assets are being released open and free as Creative Commons CC-BY. Blender is a 'Free Software' and you can download the latest version at Blender.org
It supports the entirety of the 3-D pipeline—modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, even video editing and game creation.

Two amateur art critics meet in a gallery and argue passionately about the pieces they see, until finally they find a piece on which they can agree.
The movie was made mostly as an experiment, rather than to tell a certain story, and therefore has a strong arbitrary and surreal atmosphere. This 10 minute short shows two people who explore a strange mechanical world, with each an entire own perception on what’s actually there. The emotional ending shows once more the violent impact of mixing reality and fantasy.
Sintel is an independently produced short film, initiated by the Blender Foundation as a means to further improve and validate the free/open source 3D creation suite Blender. With initial funding provided by 1000s of donations via the internet community, it has again proven to be a viable development model for both open 3D technology as for independent animation film.
BIG BUCK BUNNY
Big Buck Bunny (code-named Peach) is a short computer animated film by the Blender Institute, part of the Blender Foundation. Like the foundation's previous film Elephants Dream, the film was made using Blender, a free software application for animation made by the same foundation. It was released as an Open Source film under Creative Commons License Attribution 3.0.
3-D YOFRANKIE - FREE GAME
Blender Institute game is free and open source. The game was delivered in versions for both the Blender Game Engine and for Crystal Space. The player controls evil rodent Frankie, who explores the forest seeking for other animals to harass.
